KLM to expand Middle East network, adds Riyadh too

KLM is preparing to expand its service offering to the Middle East, and add Riyadh to its network.

With the network recovering its network, KLM will restart services to Dammam, Abu Dhabi, Muscat, Kuwait and Bahrain. It will also add services to Riyadh, whilst maintaining services to Dubai.

The airline will use triangle routes and fifth freedom flights in this part of the network rebuild.

Riyadh and Damman

This route will operate four times a week as KL425/423 on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. It will utilise an Airbus A330-200, configured with 18 seats in World Business Class and 246 seats in Economy Class, operating as below:

KL425/KL423 DEPART AMS 15:35 ARRIVE RUH 22:40, Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays
KL425/KL423 DEPART RUH 15:35 ARRIVE DMM 22:40+1, Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays
KL425/KL423 DEPART DMM 02:25 ARRIVE AMS 08:05, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays

Abu Dhabi and Muscat

These flights will be combined, with Muscat operated as a tag-on flight from Abu Dhabi. There will be 3 flights per week.

The Amsterdam-Abu Dhabi-Muscat-Abu Dhabi-Amsterdam route will be operated using the Boeing 787-9 with 30 seats in World Business Class and 264 seats in Economy Class.

These flights will operate with the stopover in Abu Dhabi from 3 August.

KL0453 DEPART AMS 11:30 ARRIVE AUH 20:05, Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays
KL0453 DEPART AUH 21:20 ARRIVE MCT 22:40, Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays

KL0454 DEPART MCT 23:45 ARRIVE AUH 01:00 Tuesdays, Fridays, Sundays
KL0454 DEPART AUH 02:10 ARRIVE AMS 07:00 Tuesdays, Fridays, Sundays

Kuwait-Bahrain

Flights via Kuwait to Bahrain will also be restarted on 29 September 2020, with the airline operating three flights a week. Again, this will be operated as a tag-on flight between Kuwait and Bahrain.

KL0445 DEPART AMS 14:15 ARRIVE KWI 21:100 operates Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays
KL0445 DEPART KWI 22:10 ARRIVE BAH 23:20 operates Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays

KL0446 DEPART BAH 00:30 ARRIVE KWI 01:45 operates Monday, Thursdays and Saturdays
KL0446 DEPART KWI 03:05 ARRIVE AMS 08:!5 operates Monday, Thursdays and Saturdays

Dubai

KLM will continue to operate a daily flight between Amsterdam and Dubai with a Boeing 777-200 with 34 seats in World Business Class and 286 seats in Economy Class.
