Flair Airlines of Canada is going on an expansion phase, with the airline planning to add 13 new Boeing 737 MAX aircraft to its fleet.
Flair Airlines is a Canadian Ultra-Low-Cost Carrier. It is planning to add 13 Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft to its fleet. The airline currently operates a fleet of three Boeing 737-800 aircraft.
They will be planning to deploy their new 737-8 aircraft with 189 seats in a single-class layout. This has a range of 3,550 nautical miles (6,570 km)
The airline claims that new aircraft will enable them to achieve the lowest cost per mile for any Canadian Airline.
Flair will lease the initial 13 aircraft from one of its significant financiers, 777 Partners, who recently entered in to an agreement with Boeing for 24 new Boeing 737-8 aircraft along with options to purchase another 60 7 37-8 aircraft. The airline is planning to use the new aircraft to grow its network. The airline is currently accepting expressions of interest from airports interested in partnering with Flair to provide ULCC service to their communities

On the safety aspect of the 737-8

“Our team continues to work tirelessly to ensure our processes and training help better our already impeccable safety standards. We look forward to working with Boeing and our regulators to ensure a smooth entry in to service for this fantastic aircraft.”
Ambitious Growth
With Flair Airlines bulking its fleet up, it is certainly pitching it tent to offer ULCC operations and grow travel using that method – fighting off Air Canada and WestJet from the top, whilst competing with Swoop, Sunwing at the bottom.
With the airline wanting to grow to 50 aircraft within five years, how it will grow its network will be key – both domestically within Canada, as well as looking beyond (such as the USA and Caribbean).
It’s going to be an interesting time as they try to change Canadian aviation.
