According to easyJet, all the tests are conducted by trained medical practitioners and are approved for the UK Government’s current mandatory testing.
For in-destination testing before returning to the UK, Collinson has launched a pre-return video testing solution. easyJet customers can book their appointment and test kit a minimum of three full working days before their UK departure at a special price of £32. Up to 72 hours before their return flight, customers complete their test via video consultation with a medical practitioner, to verify the result and issue the relevant certification via email, all in line with the current UK Government requirements for UK arrivals.
If you need these, you can book them at Collinsongroup.com/en/covid-19-testing/easyjet.
Testing facilities are located at easyJet airports across the UK including London Luton, London Gatwick (located at APH Parking) and Manchester, as well as at the O2 Arena in central London.
For those returning from Amber List Countries, Collinson also offers a “Test to Release” (TTR) process that can release travellers arriving from these countries from quarantine at the earliest time possible: after they have completed 5 full days of quarantine. The scientifically-led process uses rapid LAMP technology instead of PCR, which means significantly faster test results for passengers. The company is promising travellers same-day results (before midnight) for appointments made up until 4pm, meaning passengers are released from quarantine immediately after receiving a negative result, on day 5.

Driving down the cost of testing
The cost of testing has been noted as one of the barriers to travel for people as they balance the budgets. For larger groups considering travelling, this cost mounts up quickly and becomes a major part of the cost of leaving/returning.
With both testers and airlines realising that this cost needs to start heading down quickly to convince more customers into the air, it is a welcome step forward.
Of course, for airlines – they would like more Green list countries rather than Amber list countries – and thus removing the quarantine requirement.
We’ll find out in a few weeks if more countries are added on.
Or removed.
