It’s that time of the week where it’s time to look back. Yes, it’s Last Week at Economy Class and Beyond.
Canalside, near the NIA/Arena Birmingham/Utilita Arena Birmingham yesterday evening
It’s been busy under the hood at Economy Class and Beyond this week, as we gear up for a trip at the moment, as well as the joy of testing. My $deity – the joy of fricking booking tests. There’s a post in this somewhere when I try to wrap words around my thoughts.
Travel Restrictions
- Latest UK Green/Amber/Red Travel Lists changes go into effect – More changes in effect. As the peak travel season fades away, expect more.
Passenger Experience
- Lufthansa introduces new Short-Haul Business Class Catering – New food options now flying on Lufthansa.
- British Airways reopens its Concorde Room Lounges at Heathrow and New York-JFK – FIRST passengers rejoice as their sanctuary reopens.
- Lufthansa to operate the new Airspace cabin aboard its new Airbus narrow-body aircraft – Airspace by Airbus, Seats by Geven.
New Aircraft News
- Jet2.com to order Airbus A320neo aircraft – It seems Jet2 is not walking along with Airbus now, rather than Boeing.
IFE
- QantasLink to deploy BlueBox Aviation Wireless IFE system – Entertainment options now come to QantasLink.
Trains
- First new train for the Liverpool City Region handed over – Enter the Class 777 – New City Trains, honestly not an aircraft.

Next Week
With a trip changing from “in the works” to almost going live, there’s a bit of content coming up on this and next week.
We’re also heading into trade show season (remotely or otherwise), so expect some interesting news to come out over the next two weeks.
But for now, stay safe out there!
