We’re approaching the end of November and the end of the week. And signs Europe is preparing to tighten restrictions which are never welcome.
Welcome to Last Week at Economy Class and Beyond.
Probably the best name for a pub in Birmingham.
Omicron
Well, the Omicron variant is making the news – like it or not after it was discovered this week. Countries are taking action to limit arrivals, or change arrival procedures. I’ve got some headlines, but read around – the situation is fast evolving.
- New UK Entry rules go live: Tuesday 30th November (and some other connectivity headlines)
- UK Imposes new entry criteria – Self-Isolation and PCR test required for ALL arrivals
- UK to re-impose Red List restrictions on six countries
Economy Class and Beyond at Recaro Aircraft Seating
I spent some time with Recaro in September. What did I get up?
- The opening of the new Recaro customer facility at Schwabisch Hall
- The Recaro Hybrid Seat Show
- A look at the new Recaro Aircraft Seating Crash-test facility
Passenger Experience
- Emirates gears up for Thanksgiving in the Air – And they’re done with that for now…
- Flying Lufthansa long-haul in Economy? Want some onboard delights? Be prepared to pay – who needs five stars when you can charge for products in the cheap(ish) seats?
Rail
- TRAIN CHECK: CrossCountry Trains Birmingham to Manchester – Is there enough capacity in the system? – Hint. No.
- Crossrail moves to Trial Operations phase– Well, it’s only a few years late.
Pretty pictures
Next Week
If the travel headlines aren’t dominated by Omicron, I don’t know what will be. I’ll be keeping a very close eye on the developments as the week progresses (from multiple perspectives).
Until then – stay safe out there.
