Jet2 re-introduces “Twilight Check-in”

01/04/2022 by Kevincm

Holidays with families (or by yourself) can be a stressful experience. Jet2 (and its holiday arm Jet2Holidays), is re-introducing its “Twilight Check-in” service to reduce the pressure for those who want to check in the night before.

The service is offered at various UK departure points for flights departing before midday the next day. These include:

  • Birmingham
  • Bristol
  • East Midlands
  • Edinburgh
  • Leeds Bradford
  • London Stansted
  • Manchester
  • Newcastle

The process is pretty simple according to the airline:

  • Check-in On-Line 24 hours before departure
  • Head to the airport between 15:00 and 20:00 to drop your luggage off. you will need to have your boarding passes and passports
  • The next day, bypass the check-in lines and head to security and to the gate for your flight.

For those who live near an airport, or are staying near an airport the night before departure on their break, it might be worth toting your luggage to the airport early, it has the chance to make your life a lot easier – and more importantly – no rushing in the morning of your flight.

Jet2 have published their full details on how to use the system at https://www.jet2.com/twilight

Travel Requirements still apply

We are still in one heck of a weird space in travel at the moment, with countries adjusting entry requirements as they adapt to living with things.

Jet2Holidays has published a travel requirements list (and you should be checking the FCDO Travel Advice site before travelling for late-changing information).

One less thing to worry about

Travel is sometimes not easy – especially when there is a large party of you travelling, or if you have children which can make the process a little more fraught if they get bored or need attention whilst in the check-in line.

Similarly, for single or couples travelling, having one less to worry about at the airport on the day of departure is a welcome thing.

For those who have to travel with luggage – a service like this could be worth its weight in gold – if it reduces the stress of travel.

In our party for our holiday on 30th May 2022. We have 4 adults and 3 children does this mean mean we are unable to use the twilight check in. Thankyou.

It depends on when your flight leaves – check with Jet2, but if you fall within the check-in and twilight luggage window, you should be fine.

Remember to bring alll the documentation they ask for.

      – Check in online at least 24 hours before your flight.
      – Drop your bags at the airport Take your luggage to the airport between 3-8pm the evening before your flight.
      – Don’t forget your boarding passes and passports

Hi, I messaged Jet2 via whatsapp to ask the same question as we have 7 in our party and they said it would be fine, just ensure there are 2 people from the party dropping the bags off as only 1 person can do up to 6 people’s bags so take 2 people so all 7 people can use the service.

According to the rules at http://www.jet2.com/twilight, One person in your party can drop off up to 6 peoples bags.

You should be good to go!

Check with the airline. I don’t see a reason why not according to their rules, although they limit twilight check-in to customers departing in the morning departure bank.

EDIT: The answer is no. Flights must depart before midday! Sorry!

    Hope you can help.

We want to use Jet2 twilight check in at Terminal 2 ManchesterAirport. We fly at 6.35 am on 29th.

Do we drop the bags at a jet2 desk in the normal departures hall?

Do we need to take Covid paperwork or just passports and boarding passes.?

    Where do we park ?

      Hi Jo

Based on the reading of the rules, yes – head to Terminal 2 and the check-in area to complete that part of the task,

Remember to check-in ONLINE before you drop your luggage offf

Whilst you shouldn’t need to, I would take any paperwork in case it is needed.

      Happy landings!

This may sound obvious but I assume you just check in the hold luggage and then bring hand luggage in next morning and go straight to security?

    • Kevincm says

      21/05/2022 at 8:37 am

The obvious questions are the best ones – as people forget them!

Yes – check the hold luggage, bring the hand luggage with you in the morning and head to security, bypassing the desks.

Allow extra time – certain bigger airports are still suffering from extended wait times (especially in the morning departure block).

Want to come over and check in the night before as I believe the morning flights have been chaos lately. Where do you actually park as I don’t want to pay £25? Thank you

    • Kevincm says

      22/05/2022 at 3:50 pm

No idea sadly as you haven’t specified which airport.

If time allows, head to a long stay car park. Short stay ones are just painful.

And whatever you do AVOID THE DROP AND GO’S. They’ll just sap any money out of your bank account.

Hi can anyone tell me if twilight check in for jet 2 is available at Bristol Airport as we have a early flight on June 3rd.

    • Kevincm says

      25/05/2022 at 4:54 am

According to https://www.jet2.com/twilight, Bristol is on the list of airports that support Twilight Check In.

Make sure your flight is before Midday to ensure you qualify. Also ensure you have checked in on line and met the requirements listed on the site.

      Happy landings!

We are travelling from Manchester Airport T1 to Kalamata on Sunday at 6 am with jet2 holidays. My question is where do we do our twilight bag drop on 28 May, is it at the jet2 check in desk in T1? Or is it a special desk at T1 or T2. Thank you

Annette did you get a reply to this question we go on same flight and thought we’d just go to T1 night before to drop cases

How easy is it to use twilight with jet2 at manchester airport. Where do we park when dropping our luggage off. TIA

    • Kevincm says

      04/06/2022 at 3:48 am

You’ll have to park at the short-stay car park – Manchester Airport imposes some rather ridiculous fees in terms of drop off/pick-up and enforces them.

      Hard.
