The airline with the stripes – Condor – has unveiled the interiors for its upcoming Airbus A330-900neo – and it may just challenge some other German airlines that are still deciding how it’s going to roll out their new seating.
Let’s dive in.
Condor’s Airbus A330-900neo will feature a three-class configuration onboard.: A total of 310 seats will be available, split as follows:
- 30 Business Class seats
- 64 Premium Economy Class
- 216 Economy Class.
The Business Class offers 30 lie-flat seats in a 1-2-1 configuration with direct aisle access.
The seat converts into a 1.99-metre lie-flat, with extra-large foot space. In terms of IFE, seats will have a 17.3-inch screen in 4K mode, with a touchscreen and remote control.
Moving down the cabin, it seems the biggest difference between Premium Economy and Economy class will be the seat pitch – with Premium Economy having 15cm (just under 6 inches).
Premium Economy…
The seats will feature a multi-adjustable headrest and footrest at every seat. They will be fitted with 13.3-inch in-seat 4K monitors with touchscreens. Condor uses a 2-4-2 seating configuration in both classes.
… Economy Class
In terms of IFEC, Condor will offer high-speed broadband internet and with that a new form of connectivity whilst being aboard, as well as an up-to-date In-flight entertainment system.
Each seat has an extra holder for a mobile device so that streaming is also possible. In addition, personal Bluetooth headphones can be connected to the aircraft’s in-flight entertainment system.
Design notes
Visually, the new cabin focuses on the colours “Condor Marina” and “Condor Earth” as well as subtle stripes as a recurring element. This includes a striped badge on every seat as well as uniformly striped headrest covers in Business and Premium Economy Class.
OEMs who are supplying the interior have not been disclosed at this time – although there are some safe assumptions, given the interior fit being deployed in the cabin.

Ralf Teckentrup, CEO of Condor. said
“With the new cabin design, we are focusing on modern elegance and the colour-set creates a clear reference to our new brand identity. Our guests’ holiday begins with boarding and continues with the distinctive Condor product and first-class service,”
“With that, our well-established product is complemented by an unprecedented, coherent interior design, with the highest level of comfort, the most diverse and largest in-flight entertainment programme to date with an interface for your own Bluetooth headset, as well as high-speed internet connectivity for everyone on board.”
Coming in Winter 2022
The new aircraft is set to debut on routes in winter 2022. The first destinations include the Dominican Republic, Mexico and Seattle, USA.

For Condor, this will be a major step up when they start to replace their existing 767-300ER fleet that the airline currently uses. It even challenges a certain German airline too who is flagging behind on their new seat installs (to put it politely – their most recent aircraft has had seating from Thomson instead).
If they can match or exceed the passenger experience, then the completion is about to heat up between the two airlines…
