Iberia prepares to run a full service for the Winter Timetable

01/08/2022 by Kevincm

It’s been a while, but Iberia is preparing to scale a full service for the winter timetable.

The airline is pushing for a full service, with the relaunch of the last routes that were suspended in Latin America, growing out its US Network and developing of its Short and Medium Haul Networks

Return to Latin America

Iberia will be filling in the last gaps in its Latin America network, with direct flights to Rio de Janeiro and Caracas to return. These will be offered three times a week on each of the routes from November.

Meanwhile, there are frequency increases to Havana, which goes from three flights a week to five,  Guatemala-El Salvador to go daily and Quito six weekly flights are consolidated to which three others are added with Guayaquil.

Bogotá and Buenos Aires will have their services boosted to two daily flights

In addition, Santiago de Chile, Lima and Sao Paulo and San José de Costa Rica will feature daily flights., whilst Montevideo and Panama will have six weekly flights and Puerto Rico with four flights a week throughout the winter.

Dallas continues

Iberia launched its Dallas service this summer, with the flight linking up with the American Airlines network, along with its Joint-Venture partners British Airways and Finnair, with an Airbus A330.

The move has allowed the airline to maintain a three-weekly service in the winter and four in March.

In addition, Miami scales up to 14 flights a week with two daily flights and New York, which will scale from 10 to 13 weekly frequencies that will reach 14 in March.

Europe

The regional network will increase, with lots of boosts across Europe.

Italy

  • Milan going 35 times a week
  • Rome going 37 times a week

Portugal

  •  Lisbon up to 40 weekly flights (with up to six daily flights)
  • Funchal with three weekly frequencies

Switzerland

  • Geneva will go up to 34 weekly frequencies (up to five daily flights)

Belgium

  • Brussels will increase to 27 flights a week, with up to three daily frequencies

Spanish Domestic

Iberia, Iberia Express and Iberia Regional/ Air Nostrum will offer a flight program focused on business traffic and the Balearic and Canary Islands to boost the network over the winter season.

The Madrid-Barcelona Air Bridge will be fully restored to 87 weekly frequencies and up to 15 daily flights per direction.

Meanwhile:

  • Bilbao up to six daily flights
  • La Coruña up to four daily flights
  • Asturias up to four daily flights
  • Vigo  up to four daily flights
  • Santiago has up to three daily flights
  • Santander up to three daily flight
  •  San Sebastian up to three daily flights

Normality for some routes

It seems that Iberia is taking advantage of the situation and is scaling back to a full operation, along with its partners Air Nordstorm and Iberia Express to provide lift across its network.

With its long-haul service now strengthening too, it should provide valuable options for those who need to travel, as well as belly space for cargo.

The trick for the airline will be keeping that growth going beyond winter.
