Emirates is continuing to scale up its operations to Cario, with the airline planning to operate 28 weekly flights, along with an increase in A380-operated services.

The airline will boost its operations to and from Cairo from 25 to 28 weekly flights from 29 October 2023.
The additional flights provide more options for customers to connect to Dubai and beyond with enhanced schedules, along with the chance to enjoy the A380.
The operational boost will see Emirates operating four daily flights, thrice daily on the A380 and a daily service on the Boeing 777-300ER.
Cairo has the highest deployment of Emirates A380 services in the MENA region, outside of Dubai. The additional services and upgrade of seat capacity on the Dubai-Cairo route will help meet high demand to and from Cairo, with more than 2,200 weekly seats in each direction.
Emirates will utilise a four-class A380 on three rotations, with First, Business, Premium Economy and Economy Class seating offerings. Meanwhile, the Boeing 777-300ER rotation will have a three-class configuration with First, Business and Economy Class options aboard.
Frequency and capacity matter
Reetablsihing a full four flights a day marks a return to normality for Emirates, who have a major presence in Cairo. What’s interesting is that as well as frequency, the capacity is going up to support it – a sign that travel in that region is normalising at least – or growing at best.
And having both the capacity to lift those passengers as well as the frequency matters – especially in the Emirates fortress-hub model where nearly everything goes via Dubai International – whilst having passengers hanging around to spend money at the airport is a good thing, having passengers onto their next flight in a reasonable time frame is good for the passenger experience.
With a restored four-flight-a-day service, along with double-decker aircraft filling out most of the timetable, Emriates can easily disperse their passengers onwards as needed.
