There are four new routes that are joining the Oman Air Network. These include:
- Muscat to Chittagong, starting end of March, four times a week
- Muscat to Maldives, starting end of June, four times a week
- Muscat to Lucknow, with 12 weekly flights
- Muscat and Thiruvananthapuram, from August operating five times a week
Meanwhile, there is growth across the rest of the network.
- Phuket – daily from the end of March with a wide-body aircraft
- Kuala Lumpur – to operate Ten-times-a-week flights from June
- Mumbai – Double Daily from the end of March with a wide-body aircraft
- Chennai – Double-daily flights from the end of March
- Cochin – Double-daily flights from the end of March
- Kozhikode – Double-daily flights from the end of March
- Hyderabad – Double-daily flights from the end of March
- Dhaka – Double Daily from the end of March with a wide-body aircraft
- Moscow – Daily from the end of March with a wide-body aircraft
- Paris – Six times a week from the end of March
- Trabzon – Daily from the end of March
- Istanbul – Double Daily from the end of March
- Kwauit – Double Daily from June
- Salalah – Five times a day from July.
The changes represent a 60% increase in the number of flights from its hub in Muscat compared to the previous year
This will provide the market with approximately 60,000 more seats weekly across its network and provide greater convenience and connectivity for Oman Air passengers.
Building out regional connectivity
There’s a lot of growth here, with a focus on the Indian region, as well as beyond with Asia and Europe getting boosts across the network, showing that the airline is targeting markets where it can push forward.
For passengers connecting through Muscat, it should provide further options – especially as it prepares to join oneworld, offering further connectivity to passengers in that alliance.
