Last Week at Economy Class and Beyond (22nd April)

22/04/2023 by Kevincm

It’s that time of the week after I’ve woken up after a long sleep and tried to do something with the day – and try to collect all the links into one friendly thing that might make sense when I started typing this introduction.

Yes, it’s time for Last Week at Economy Class and Beyond.

TRIP REPORT: Back in the Groove

This week, it’s three of the bigger part of the passenger experiences pieces of the trip, with the Club World and two hotel stays. Next week, we’re onto more things “to do” as opposed to travel.

  • BA295 London Heathrow – Chicago O’Hare (CLUB WORLD)
  • Into the USA and the Crowne Plaza O’Hare
  •  The Hyatt Regency O’Hare

Passenger Experience

  • British Airways unveils its new Safety Video – Well, it’s better than having Chabuddy G trying to be humourous in a video
  • China Airlines to offer a new catering experience with Le Palais – and its being made available across all passenger classes

New Aircraft news

  • Austrian Airlines to renew their fleet with Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners – Ten to join the Austrian fleet

Route and networks

  • United Airlines adds new routes and capacity to the South Pacific – Austraila and New Zealand get major connectivity uplifts
  • Qatar Airways increases services to Casablanca and Marrakesh – Summer fun in Morroco.

Trains

  • LNER to launch a named train for the coronation – Seems appropriate as a new era begins

Pretty Pictures

  • LOT Polish Airlines Boeing 737-8 preparing to depart Heathrow

Next Week

We’ve got another full week at Economy Class and Beyond – as well as our usual items that pass the editorial desk. We’ve also got another three segments from the Chicago trip that might raise an eyebrow – or fill a belly.

Until then, stay safe and happy landings!
