It’s Sunday again, so it must be time for some more Airplane Art.
This week, we have a Delta Air Lines Airbus A350-900 taking off from Dublin Airport begins the transatlantic flight to its home base of Atlanta Hartsfield–Jackson International Airport.
Delta Air Lines operates a fleet of 27 active Airbus A350-900 aircraft in its widebody fleet, with a 28th aircraft currently stored. The airline also operates the Airbus A330-200, Airbus A330-300, Airbus A330-900neo, Boeing 767-300ER and Boeing 767-400ER in its widebody operation.
These aircraft help connect Delta’s hubs (Atlanta, Boston, Detroit, Los Angeles, Minneapolis-St Paul, New York-JFK, Salt Lake City and Seattle-Tacoma) to the world.
This aircraft – N573DZ – initially joined LATAM Brasil’s fleet in December 2018 as PR-XTI. This aircraft was stored in April 2021, as LATAM pivoted away from the A350-900 type. The aircraft was returned to flight in September 2022, entering service as N573DZ with Delta in October 2022.
The aircraft has had an interesting week, with it operating out of its Atlanta home to Athens, Tel Aviv, Amsterdam and Barcelona. It’s also made a trip up to Gander on a rescue flight too from the looks of things.
More Airplane Art Next Week!
