For those planning for summer 2024, LEVEL (the low-cost long-haul by IAG) will be adding a new route – with them operating Barcelona – Miami.
LEVEL Airbus A330-200 – Image, Economy Class and Beyond
The new route will commence on the 31st of March 2024, as LEVEL adds a sixth aircraft to its fleet to support its expansion.
Planned operation is as follows:
VY9779 DEPART BCN 15:40 ARRIVE MIA 20:00 VY9780 DEPART MIA 21:45 ARRIVE BCN 13:10+1 Commences 31st March 2024 Operate Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays in both directions Booked Equipment: LEVEL Airbus A330-200
Lead-in pricing starts at $265.00 each way in Economy Class, with LEVEL offering a two-class service aboard their aircraft.
Miami will become the fifth city in the United States that LEVEL will connect with, directly and nonstop, along with New York, Boston, Los Angeles and San Francisco.
For the summer season, which starts March 31, LEVEL will offer 17% more capacity than it did last summer. In addition, the company is the only airline that directly connects Boston, Los Angeles and San Francisco with Barcelona.
In Quotes
“Today is a very important day for the company, as announcing the incorporation of the sixth aircraft and the new Miami – Barcelona route is a great step forward in LEVEL’s commitment to connect Barcelona with distant destinations in the United States,” said Chief Commercial Officer of LEVEL, Lucía Adrover. “We are diversifying our offerings to provide a wider and more robust product to our customers.”
Managed Growth
IAG has confidence in its LEVEL brand, with it progressively adding aircraft to its fleet step-by-step – as opposed to a mass fleet purchase. It seems that the airline has been able to deliver long-haul connectivity and sustained growth in its Barcelona hub.
The airline has grown since its inception and operations in 2017.
Adding a sixth aircraft seems to be a vote of confidence to continue to develop its low-cost long-haul business model, marrying it with Vueling to provide connectivity to destinations in Spain and Europe (short and medium-haul destinations).
For LEVEL, slow and steady may win the race.
