Last Week at Economy Class and Beyond (13th January)

13/01/2024 by Kevincm

It’s the second week of January already. And I’m nowhere near home at this time. Funny things happen when you book an airplane ticket and end up on the West Coast of the USA.

It must be time for Last Week at Economy Class and Beyond.

Rcky Balboa - Philladelphia
Well. I’m not here anymore. But who can not go to Philadelphia and pay homage to Rocky?

TRIP REPORT: Older, Yes. Wiser? Nahhh.

We’ve come to the end of this trip report – as I’ve posted all the segments from this. Or maybe I have by the time I wake up tomorrow.

  • SBB CFF FFS IC3 Zurich Airport to Basel Hbf
  • To Euroairport Basel and The Queue from Hades
  • The Skyview Lounge, Euroairport Basel
  • BA749 EuroAirport Basel to London Heathrow (EuroTraveller)
  • Welcome to Little Britain… at its worst
  • Older, for sure. Wiser? Of course not!

New Aircraft news

A rather busy week, as Airbus and ATR deliver aircraft, as well as opened up the 2024 order books

  • EVA Air signs for the Airbus A350 and A321neo – Firms up orders for narrow and widebody aircraft
  • Transavia takes delivery of their first Airbus A320neo – As long as a bird doesn’t ram into the ray dome, it’ll be fine.
  • Sky Express Greece to add further ATR aircraft to its fleet – One of two delivered
  • Delta Air Lines signs for the Airbus A350-1000 – Delta goes big

Rail

  • South Western Railway’s Class 701 Arterio trains *finally* take to the rails – Only Six or so years late. Pretty much on time on the Windsor and Eaton line.

No Fear of flying

  • easyJet adds further “Fearless Flyer” courses – Important for those who want to fly.

Pretty Pictures

  • Lufthansa Airbus A350-900 climbing out of Chicago O’Hare

Next Week.

I’m going to be away from the keyboard for a lot of Monday and Tuesday, so don’t expect a lot then. I’d go as far as to say we’ll be back at publishing speed on Wednesday.

Bottom line: I’m on holiday for a few days, so writing won’t be at the forefront of my mind, rather challenging myself (as well as walking myself silly) will be instead.

If something breaks, I’ll try and tap something out on the phone.

In the meantime, Happy landings!

.
