Last Week at Economy Class and Beyond (10th February)

10/02/2024 by Kevincm

It’s Saturday, and it a’s the start of a new Luna New Year so it must be time for Last Week at Economy Class and Beyond.

Lions Dancing in Grant Avenue – Chinatown, San Francisco.

And on behalf of the Economy Class and Beyond team, Gong Hei Fat Choi. May the Dragon bring you good fortune and luck for the year ahead.

SNAPSHOTS

Well, nearly all the Snapshots have been written. And “close enough” will do as we head into the trip report.

  • Crowne Plaza, Burlingame (near San Francisco Airport)
  • The Intercontinental San Francisco (Howard Street)
  • American Airlines 104 New York JFK to London Heathrow Airport (Business Class)
  • British Airways CityFlyer 4469 Dublin Airport to London City Airport

British Airways Tier Point Fallout

It’s been a big week as British Airways modifies its Frequent Flyer programme and how Tier Point years will work

  • British Airways to change your Tier Point Collection Year

And never let it be said another airline can make hay whilst the sun shines

  • Virgin Atlantic to offer an enhanced status match with British Airways

Routes and Networks

  • Emirates boosts its Osaka service, with a four-class Airbus A380

Seating

  • Air India partners with Recaro Aircraft Seating for Premium Economy and Economy seating

Passenger Experience

  • Air France offers boxed meals in Short-Haul Business… with a lot of sandwiches

Pretty Pictures

  • Hawaiian Airlines Airbus A321neo at San Francisco International Airport

Next Week

As I’ve insinuated above, I’m at that wonderful point where I switch from Snapshots to long and deep writing, with Polishing Silver kicking off next week (once I’ve done the intro graphic), as well as liming up all the other graphics go with it.

And there are a lot of images to add… (and unprocessed at this moment of writing).

There’s more than a little bit of work to do.

It’s also the first of the half-term weeks in the United Kingdom, so there will be ebbs and flows over the week ahead.

Until then, Happy Landings!
