SNAPSHOT: Crowne Plaza O’Hare, Rosemont

05/04/2024 by Kevincm

It’s time for another snapshot, this time looking at the hotel experience at the Crowne Plaza O’Hare, in Rosemont, near Chicago O’Hare International Airport.

I’m sure you’re all aware of how I do this travel writing thing by now. But for those reading this for the first time, I have two major travel writing styles:

  • Trip Reports – These are full deep-dive reports taking you into the experience, the small things… as well as the big things!
  • Snapshots – These are bite-sized reviews that show you the product in some gentle headlines (and normally, only images shot on the phone)

Right. On with the show and a hotel stop for a night.

Location

The Crowne Plaza O’Hare is within 10 minutes of Chicago O’Hare International Airport. It’s accessible by Shuttle bus, car and public transit, with it being a 10-minute walk from Rosemont L Station and bus station.

Check-in

I was able to check in straight away and was allocated a room on the 10th floor.  An IHG elite offering of either 600 points or a welcome drink was offered. The points were selected. Unlike previous times, this rate did not include breakfast.

The Room

I was assigned a king-sized bedroom at check-in, which was located at the end of a corridor on the 10th floor. This has a little more room, with a corner view, facing out to The Rosemont Theatre and Balmoral Avenue.

The room features a king bed, dominating the room. there’s also a glass-topped table to work at.  there were limited outlets by the bed, requiring a US-style plug to access (fitting an international adapter would require the movement of the lamp.

There was also an ottoman with a sofa near the window.

Coffee and Tea facilities were available, with a Keurig machine

In the bathroom, there’s a bath, toilet and sink. Amenities were provided in individual bottles.

Breakfast

Breakfast was not offered at the rate I was on. This would have been offered at the On The Fly on the ground floor. This offers a buffet breakfast or items to go.

Check Out

Checkout was a simple process, with the process completed in a matter of minutes.  With that completed, I was able to continue on my trip to the Windy City.

The full review of the Crowne Plaza O’Hare is coming soon.
