Frontier Airlines has disclosed that they’re making changes for 2025, with enhancements for its loyalty programme, as well as the cabin – with First Class seats coming to the airline cabin.
Frontier Airlines new First Class seats – Rendering, Frontier Airlines.
According to the airline, Frontier’s new First Class seating will combine luxury and value. There will be two rows of this seating installed per aircraft – akin to how Spirit Airlines configures their premium seats aboard its aircraft.
The new seats are due to debut in late 2025.
Starting in early 2025, Frontier’s Elite loyalty members will enjoy free upgrades on every flight, subject to availability and status level. From UpFront Plus seating with guaranteed empty middle seats to premium First Class seating (available late 2025), the upgrade options ensure more comfort for valued customers.
In addition for Platinum and Diamond Elite members, the airline is introducing “Free” unlimited companion travel (with the passenger requiring a Frontier Frequent flyer account, as well as government-imposed fees and taxes).

Barry Biffle, CEO, Frontier Airlines.
“Travelers should expect more from their airline and, in 2025, Frontier will deliver as we continue our transformation into the most rewarding airline in the sky,”
“We’ve listened to customers, and they want more – more premium options, like first class seating, attainable seat upgrades, more free travel for their companions, and the ability to use miles on more than just airfare. These changes represent an exciting new chapter in our transformation into The New Frontier.”
An interesting play
With Spirit Airlines not in the greatest of states currently, it seems Frontier Airlines is trying to at least match its seating offering, with some tempting benefits to match.
Whilst it may not be enough to knock out Spirit, it’s enough for other airlines to take a look over their shoulders to see if their front-of-cabin product is enough to keep their customers – or if Frontier can lure them away.
At the time of publication, further details about the seat (in terms of the OEM), although for a First/Business Class recliner, there are a fair few options in the market.
We’ll look forward to seeing the new seat when it’s ready for rollout.
