Meanwhile, Tthe pre-landing meal, will now be served on a tray or in a re-usable bento box.
On some flights, the crew will further offer some additional food between the meals; and all guests will have an extended range of snacks at their disposal. SWISS will also be offering a broader selection of beverages that include a new Swiss red wine and typical Swiss soft drinks such as Rivella.
Customers can look forward to some restful sleep, too, thanks to new bedding new soft pillows and blankets that are made entirely of recycled materials and will also fit excellently into the future SWISS Senses cabin design. With the Airbus A350-900 on the way to the airline soon, it is welcoming to see SWISS upgrade the passenger experience in the back of the aircraft.
There are some good sustainability wins here, with the airline moving to reusable dining materials and boxes (as those foil-covered dishes or plastic wrap specials are so wasteful in how much waste is created.
Combined with new bedding – let’s face it, a nice warm blanket helps to doze off during a flight, no matter the class of service you’re in.
With the majority of the passengers being seated in the back of the plane, improvements have to be scalable and sustainable. It seems SWISS has found a balance here for this deployment.
It’ll be interesting to see this in the real world.
