Last Week at Economy Class and Beyond (8th March)

08/03/2025 by Kevincm

We’ve reached the end of the week again, where I’ve spent time typing, scheming and trying to understand the meaning of sanity. It must be time for Last Week at Economy Class and Beyond.

TRIP REPORT: Miles to Bucharest

We’re into the bit where I’m spending time walking around, as well as escaping the city. The final parts next week

  • A Nighttime walk with an iPhone – Miles to Bucharest
  • A Morning Exploration around Central Bucharest
  • Back to Bucharest Henri Coandă Airport and The Visa Satellite Lounge

Routes and Networks

  • Emirates to open three new routes to Asia – With some interesting routings through Bangkok
  • Emirates refitted Boeing 777 next destinations: London Stansted and Seoul Incheon – Four class fun, with 1-2-1 seating and premium economy seats

Passenger Experience

  • SWISS Senses rolls passenger experience improvements to roll out – And in Premium Economy/Economy Class for once
  • Lufthansa Express Rail links improves, by adding local transit options too – One ticket to get from A to B… and spitting distance from your actual destination
  • KLM enables Apple’s “Find My Share Item Location” to aid baggage recovery – Time to keep your AirTag batteries updated

Papers Please

  • UK Electronic Travel Authorisation – Wave Three Applications (Europe) are now online – Time to register if you plan to come to the United Kingdom

Pretty pictures

  • United Airlines Boeing 787-10 on finals for Chicago O’Hare International

Next Week

I’m beavering away at things as I head into a big part of my spring travel season, so there’s lots going on in the background – to put it bluntly.

We’ll have the last part of the Bucharest Trip reports next week too to keep you entertained, as well as our usual mix of news and views

Until then, Happy Landings!
