Scandivanian Airlines is working on expansion Copenhagen hub, with new routes and more capacity for Winter 2025.
The winter program features two new year-round routes – Vienna, with two daily frequencies, and Tel Aviv, flying twice weekly.
Alongside the new routes, five new winter leisure destinations have been announced, with Marrakech, Funchal, Fuerteventura, Kittilä, and Turin joining the network. The schedules are designed to connect seamlessly with SAS’s broader network across the Nordics, Europe, and intercontinental destinations.
The airline reported it had a strong summer 2025. Building on that, 19 of the routes operated during summer will continue into winter. This includes Nordic destinations such as Billund and Turku, European cities such as Budapest, Lyon, and Krakow, and intercontinental flights to Seoul and Toronto.
For passengers, this translates into a 40% uplift in seats out of Copenhagen for Winter 2025/26. This enables 55 more connected destinations and 75 percent more transfer possibilities through Copenhagen, providing travellers with convenient same-day connections between Northern and Central Europe, as well as smoother transfers between Europe and North America or Asia.

Henrik Winell, Vice President Network at SAS, said:
“We are entering the first winter season with an optimized network setup. The results are clear: higher connectivity, better schedules, and even stronger offerings for our customers across the Nordics and beyond. With new destinations, extended routes and more frequent service, we continue to build our position as the leading carrier in Northern Europe,”
A busy winter
With seven new destinations for the winter timetable, along with a big uplift in seating should be useful for travellers who wish to use SAS’s “southern” hub in Copenhagen, whilst offering choices for Europe, North America and Asia – core markets for the airline.
With more seats than last year and new links, these should offer a lot more options for those passengers who have to transit or depart Copenhagen.
And more options are always a welcome thing for travellers.
