I headed into the lounge complex and was welcomed by one of the reception staff. After my boarding pass was scanned, I was asked if I needed a Wi-Fi code.
Code and invitation in hand, I was welcomed and pressed the button to take me to the lounge.
The Flagship Lounge is on the floor above reception. Exiting the lift, my invitation was taken from me, and I was free to roam.
I headed to my usual spot – a window seat on a bench. Not that I could see much out of it, as night had long descended.
Therefore, I focused on hydration and food. Whilst World Traveller Plus can deliver a reasonable meal, sometimes the results can be questionable – especially when it comes to the caterers at O’Hare.

I’ve gone very “Sheldon-like” in my ways. That’s my spot. Why is someone sitting in my spot? Etc.
Going through the food items, it was the usual fair spread, with a mixture of hot items, cold salad and sushi, soups and hot items.

Pro tip. If you need to fill a water bottle at this lounge, use this machine.

And the contents of said weapon

Make your own drinks. And wrapped friuit.
I did what I did best – stuffed my face and got some drinks, and sat back for a bit. There was some post-weekend admin I needed to do (and, let’s say, I wasn’t in the mood to do it the night before).
Admin takes time, answers between runs to get drinks and attempts to fill the cold water bottle (with the Coke freeway machine seeing to only have the right height spout), time was marching on apace.
Boarding was called twice from the lounge. The first time, friendly, the second time was more insistent, saying the gate was closing… when it was clearly not.
There was a semi-good reason, I suppose, as the Boeing 787-10 was parked at Gate K19 – the far end of the K Gates at O’Hare.

Hiking to the end of the world
Arriving at the gate, boarding was in progress as priority passengers were being let through, and a lot of people in group 1.
Group 2 was called forward. Checking my ticket, that was my call, so I made my way forward. With an ICE facial scan, I was blipped by the boarding pass scanner and allowed to board.
It was time to leave the United States of America.
