Alaska Airlines is continuing its long-haul adventure, with the airline adding two new routes from its Seattle home to Athens (Greece) and Paris (France).
Like some of the long-haul destinations Alaska Airlines has operated, these routes have been heavily requested by its Atomos Rewards members.
When these new additions launch next spring, Alaska will serve seven intercontinental destinations.
In the first instance, these new routes will be operated seasonally.
The Seattle to Athens service will begin 12th May 12, 2027, operate three times a week and become the longest route Alaska has ever flown. When the new route launches, it will also become the West Coast’s only nonstop Athens flight, making it easier than ever for travellers across the region to access Greece and beyond. Meanwhile, Paris gets a five-times-a-week service.
Planned operations are below:
| City pair | Start date | End date | Departure | Arrival | Frequency |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Seattle (SEA) – Athens (ATH) | May 12, 2027 | October 2027 | 16:30 | 14:20 + 1 day | 3x weekly |
| Athens (ATH) – Seattle (SEA) | May 13, 2027 | October 2027 | 16:20 | 18:55 | 3x weekly |
| Seattle (SEA) – Paris (CDG) | May 25, 2027 | October 2027 | 17:25 | 12:25 + 1 day | 5x weekly |
| Paris (CDG) – Seattle (SEA) | May 26, 2027 | October 2027 | 14:25. | 15:50 | 5x weekly |
The airline’s growing global network also enables same-day connections between Honolulu and Paris through Seattle, making international travel to and from Hawaiʻi, the airline’s second-largest hub, more convenient.
Alaska Airlines will continue to deploy its Boeing 787-9 on these routes, offering 34 Business Class and 266 Economy Seats – 79 of which are “Premium Class” seats in the economy cabin.

CEO, Alaska Airlines said:
We fly where our guests aspire to go, and Athens and Paris have been high on that list for years. As we build to more than 12 international long-haul routes from Seattle in the coming years, we’re giving travelers more ways to connect to the world and more opportunities to use Atmos Rewards. This global growth is possible because of the remarkable people across our airline who take care of our guests and deliver safe and reliable operations.”
We are thrilled to welcome Alaska Airlines’ decision to directly connect Seattle to Athens as of May 2027. This brand-new destination in our network, the first-ever nonstop service to Athens from the Pacific Northwest, will further strengthen Athens’ dynamically growing connectivity with the United States and open a new bridge for tourism, business, investment and trade between Greece and the U.S. West Coast. We warmly welcome our newest airline partner, Alaska Airlines, to the Athens airport family and wish the airline every success with this new service!”
Growing the Seattle Hub
Alaska Airlines has been growing its intercontinental lineup from Seattle since the 787-9s arrived, whilst leaning on Hawaiian Airlines long haul experiance.
Its long-haul network extends from Seattle, which now includes Reykjavik (Iceland), London (United Kingdom), Rome (Italy), Seoul (South Korea) and Tokyo (Japan).
This growth is set to continue as Alaska Airlines grows its Boeing 787-9 fleet, with five aircraft delivered and a further seven on their way. The airline is intending to add at least five further intercontinental routes by 2030 as it seeks to launch its own challenge from the Seattle hub.
Ticketing for these routes is now open.
