4500 jobs to go at Iberia

It seems IAG's patience with Iberia is running out quickly, as it announced today a sharpening of the job axe. Up to 4500 positions are up for the cut, along with five long haul aircraft and 20 shorthaual aircraft to be removed for the Iberia mainline fleet (156 planes down to 131 planes). CAA has awarded London to Moscow… to EasyJet

Oh, this is going to set the fire alight at Virgin Ataltic HQ, with the announcement today from UK Civil Aviation Authority, with them confirming that the spare London - Moscow operations slot will be issued to EasyJet over Virgin Atlantic Citing the decision, part of the reason is due to the scarce capacity at Heathrow. After picking up some A330's from Airbus last week, it seems Turkish want some more Boeing 777's. The order is for 15 Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, with options for 5 more - a total of 20 aircraft.
