Frankfurt bore the brunt of strike action today, with Lufthansa cabin crew aligned with the UFO Union walking out from 05:00CET to 13:00CET today. Ryanair’s bid to take over Aer Lingus is sent to the European Commission. Again.

In what really should surprise no-one, the latest bid for Aer Lingus by Ryanair is be investigated by the European Commission. The current bid from Ryanair values Aer Lingus at €694m. Lufthansa prepares for flight attendant strikes

It seems Lufthansa and the UFO union have failed to agreed new terms after failure of negations over pay and working conditions. The discussions have been goving for more than a year, with neither side agreeing.
