Virgin Blue seems to have a bit of money to splash with. After negotiating with Boeing, in the first instance they're purchasing 50 brand new 737-800's with 20 options and another 30 purchasing rights, taking it to a total of 105 aircraft possible.The aircraft are swappable for 737-700's or 737-900's if needed.
