So which way AM I going to New York?

07/08/2012 by Kevincm

A few months ago I posed  a question to you all in the form of a poll: Well lets discount a few of these... There isn't a hope in hell I'm swimming or rowing in that direction! Me. On Virgin. After all the lovely things I write about this airline? I somehow think not... I may like Deltalina, but I'm skipping Delta as I've got no Elite Status (does … [Read more...]

The fate of UK Airport Expansion….squandered once again by politics

12/07/2012 by Kevincm

Where I turn up to work, sometimes the word "decision" is a very dirty word. No one wants to make one in case it offends someone along the way. The same can sadly be said of the fate of Airport Expansion in the UK, and more specifically, the expansion of the South East of England. The options on the table sound simple: Expand Heathrow and pop that extra runway … [Read more...]

Emirates Dubai – London service switch to A380’s… completely!

05/07/2012 by Kevincm

Well it's taken long enough for Emriates, but it seems they now have enough of an A380 fleet to take Dubai to London Heathrow to A380 aircraft only.  There are a few changes here, so pay attention. The 4th Daily Service (the planned EK007/EK008) trip has been shifted from 1st Feb 2013 to 28th October 2012. This rotation which was going to be a Boeing 777-300ER has been … [Read more...]

BA announces Autumn/Winter 2012 changes… and you’ve got a choice of THREE terminals

27/06/2012 by Kevincm

It seem BA is spreading itself across Heathrow widely with the purchase of BMI. This turns into a bigger chaotic picture with the announcement of the Autumn/Winter 2012 Timetable. Most of this takes effect from 28th October 2012. Those of a nervous disposition should look away now. Heading to London Heathrow Terminal 1 (T1) Basel - All flights consolidated at … [Read more...]

British Airways to get a little Seoul

03/05/2012 by Kevincm

It seems British Airways has decided to use one pair of its new BMI slots for a long haul expansion. The first destination it has announced is an operation to Seoul Incheon International Airport. The marks a service return to Seoul after a break of 14 years (we'll ignore last year when British Airways planes landed at Seoul for refuelling due to the earthquake and tsunami … [Read more...]

Virgin group attempts an 11th hour change over the BMI sale…

16/04/2012 by Kevincm

Well it seems that the Virgin Group are distinctly unhappy at the International Airlines Group takeover of British Midland International, and is to appeal against the European Commission's decision to allow the purchase to go through. Virgin objects in lots of whiny language with Richard Branson said Virgin Group stating: "This deal was agreed with lightning speed and we … [Read more...]

ORD XII – Another lounge

26/03/2012 by Kevincm

One lounge has semi decent food. The other does not. One has a good view. The other looks like it is in a black pit of hell. Meanwhile - breakfast is served! More hopefully when I've made my first stop... … [Read more...]

Delta waves goodbye to Gatwick, boosts frequencies to Heathrow

23/02/2012 by Kevincm

It seems that Delta is finally turning its full attention to Heathrow, with the announcement of a second daily flight from London Heathrow to Atlanta, but at a price for Gatwick, which looses its last Delta service (also serving Atlanta) Since Delta has had access to London Heathrow, services have moved over at a pace with New York-JFK services moving completely over first, … [Read more...]
