British Airways Introduces… Bronze

18/10/2011 by Kevincm

Big news from British Airways today as they add a new level of membership to their Executive Club scheme… the wonderful colour of BRONZE.

So lets get to the skinny. To Qualify for Bronze you’ll need:

  • 300 Tier Points
  • 2 Qualifying Flights OR 25 Single Sectors

And for that, you’ll get

  • Business class check-in
  • Seat selection from seven days before departure
  • Mileage tier bonus of 25 per cent every time they travel (1.25 Avios for every mile flown)
  • Access to a priority free phone number
  • Priority at the Baggage Arrival Services desks
  • Priority stand-by and wait-listing
  • and now CONFIRMED OneWorld Ruby.

British Airways expect around 120,000 will benefit by adding a bronze tier – something that BA has missed.  It is now confirmed that if the Bronze tier will be OneWorld Ruby.

For those who are trying to hit Executive Club Silver (OneWorld Emerald), this means you’ll need to earn an additional 300Tier points to get your silver (900 Tier Points in total)

British Airways will also be getting the Strategy Boutique team in to make over the Executive Club, with a relaunch due in November.

This will be a topic of discussion, and there’s already an active discussion on FlyerTalk.

I can’t see this not being OW Ruby…though odd that they didn’t specify this…

My thoughts exactly. When the membership packs for the Bronze’s get sent out, we’ll find out I suspect…
