It’s been coming for some time, but at last Emirates have commenced services between Dublin and Dubai.
The service operates as follows:
EK0161 DEPART DXB 07:00 ARRIVE DUB 11:30 EK0162 DEPART DUB 12:55 ARRIVE DUB 00:25+1 Operates Daily Booked Equipment - Airbus A330-200 - 3 Class Configuration (First/Business/Economy)
Emirates’ first flight between Dubai and Dublin took off this morning.
The completion is increasing to the Gulf Area from the Emerald Isle, with Etihad also operating flights to the region (well Abu Dhabi – about 150km or 93 miles away from Dubai), operating 10 flights a week with a mixture of morning and evening departures – as well as its own lounge facility at Dublin.
It’s even better news for those who wish to connect directly between Ireland and the Middle East and beyond who want to avoid an additional transit at a European hub before connecting for the Gulf.
Whilst the equipment may be not too impressive for Emriates (the A330’s were introduced from 1999), hopefully the traffic on this route can sustain it – as well as improve it (for example, if the numbers work out – upscaling to a 2nd service or a Boeing 777-300ER style service)
