Emirates to upscale Newcastle to Dubai route

23/02/2012 by Kevincm

It seems there is demand from the North of England to the Middle East and beyond within announcement that Emirates is to upscale the route from an Airbus A330-200 to a Boeing 777-300ER

This will be one of Emirates’s Two Class 777-300ER’s, with 42 Business Class Seats and 385 Economy class seats. This adds an extra 2000 seats a week (from the 278 seater Airbus A330-200)

What isn’t mentioned of course is the seating. Whilst up the front it’s a tight 2-3-2 in Business Class, it’s worse down the back – 3-4-3 (or to you and me, 10 across) akin to the Air New Zealand/Air France configurations.

And that going from a comparative relaxed 2-4-2, it’s going be tight down the back of the plane…
