EasyJet to trial allocated seat numbers….

28/03/2012 by Kevincm

Well, this is a turnabout for the books. EasyJet is to trial allocated seats on a number of limited routes.

Of course, everything will be chargable, with those wanting:

  • Exit Row – £12
  • Front Row – £8
  • Anywhere else £3

The following routes are in the trial:

  • Glasgow to Alicante
  • London Luton to Alicante
  • London Luton to  Istanbul
  • London Luton to Malaga
  • London Luton to Sharm el Sheikh

EasyJet argue that they won’t be making any money from the trial as they have modify the booking system to handle seat reservations.

So, EasyJet sort of grows up, realising that some passengers don’t want to fight to get on the plane and fight for their seat on the day of the flight.

A bit of humanity will probably return to the air if this works out…
