The A380 will be utilised on the QR836/QR833 rotation, operating the following timetable:
QR836 DEPART DOH 01:55 ARRIVE BKK 12:10 QR833 DEPART BKK 20:45 ARRIVE DOH 23:55 QR836/833 operate using Airbus A380s from 5th January 2015 Operates daily All other Qatar Airways flights to BKK operate with 777-300ER
The Airbus A380 will be utilised on one set of the four flights between Doha and Bangkok, with the other flights handled by Boeing 777-300ER aircraft.
These flights are listed in the Qatar Airways booking system:
Doha to Bangkok launch service
These flights are also showing for redemption too for those who want to redeem 80,000 Avios and £224 in taxes:
Qatar Airways will be operating a total four sets of A380 flights when this rotation commences. These include:
- 2 x A380s between Doha and London Heathrow
- 1 x A380 between Doha and Paris Charles De Gaulle
- 1 x A380 between Doha and Bangkok
Whilst Qatar Airways fleet is much smaller than the Emirates mega-fleet of A380s, Qatar Airways are targeting the use of their aircraft on high yield, low slot availability routes. Hopefully this strategy will work out for them.

I think this is the first time I’ve ever heard a BKK route called “high yield”. Note that AF and LH don’t fly F to BKK.

I wonder if/when they’ll release F award availability on this route.
