Time for another quick snapshot of my current adventure (and this one done at 35,000ft aboard an US Airways A320… and trust me – I’m having trouble working out which is first class and economy class on this bird) – this time a quick hotel stop in London – The Travelodge London City Airport.
It’s about 10 minutes walk away from the terminal complex at London City – or a 2 minute bus ride on the 474/473.
If you get a room here, make sure you get one at the front of the property (the roar). This is important as if you get a room face the back, you’ll get the noise of the airport… and the DLR that rattles past.
The room itself… well it’s a Travelodge. It’s going to be pretty basic
The TV was a bit small – but adequate for the place, whilst the bed was… and I’m going to be honest – VERY COMFORTABLE.
The bathroom itself was small, but reasonable for my needs – even eschewing the fashion for just having showers for having a proper bathtub.
The room itself was warm enough – not setting off any asthma attacks and comfortable enough to not feel cold.
Tea and Coffee facilities, Basic, but did the job.
Wifi was variable. Not great, but not bad in the least.
Although it was variable. Not bad for £3 for 24 hours
I didn’t try the food out (although a fellow Tier point runner did… and was disappointed). For me? It did the job.
