SNAPSHOT: Holiday Inn Express, Sheung Wan

Time for another Snapshot – this time looking at the Holiday Inn Express, Sheung Wan

Location

The Holiday Inn Express is located near Sheung Wan MTR station, and about a 10 minute walk away from it. There are multiple ways to get to it.

Alternatively, you can use the MTR shuttle from Hong Kong Station to deliver you there.  Be warned, it’s the first stop on this run so sit near the front. It’s also the first stop on the loop back to the airport if you’re planning on using the shuttle – which can get overloaded.

Reception – hotel layout

This hotel is thin and tall – to say the least. It’s friendly and well light though.

The Room

A very typical Holiday Inn Express room.

The bed. A bit hard, but not the worst in the world. The frosted bit is where the shower is…

Tea and coffee making facilities – a fridge is to the left, and a safe on the right.

Welcome amenity – not overly original, but better than nothing!

The View

A view of the Peak and of lots of flats….

The Bathroom

Compact, but it has what you need in it.

Complimentary water… a requirement.

… because you’d need to boil any other water.

The Breakfast

This being a Holiday Inn Express, breakfast is part of the deal. And it’s a reasonable buffet spread.

Congee. Haven’t we been here before with my thoughts on Congee?

Oodles of Noodles.

How do you like your eggs? Scrambled or Whole?

A wise person once said never trust square/oblong ham. I’m inclined to agree.
