Yesterday – Airbus revealed its Airspace by Airbus mockup which I revealed yesterday. Well today, the first customer of the cabin is TAP Portugal.
TAP will also be first to fly the Airbus A330neo.
They will be having the Airspace by Airbus installed aboard their aboard their Airbus A330neo aircraft.
The plane will be fitted with Recaro seats in all three classes.
TAP will have orders for 14 Airbus A330neo-900. Deliveries will being in the forth quarter of 2017, with 4 aircraft in the fleet by 2018.
Meanwhile, the existing 14 A330-200s will be re-fitted with a new cabins with lie-flat business class seats (The Thompson Advantage), an economy plus product and a refreshed economy product.
TAP will withdrawn their P&W engine based product first, leaving it with a fleet of General Electric powered A330-200s. Meanwhile, whilst fuel prices are low – the A340 fleet TAP has will remain in service.
No doubt, this will be the first of many carriers to have Airspace by Airbus installed on their aircraft – hand will hopefully have a lot more traction than 11-across A380 (that no-one has opted to install).
