It seems there seems to be a thawing in the relationship between Delta and Korean Air, with the announcement of Delta re-opening the route between Atlanta and Seoul Incheon.

Delta will be operated the route from 3rd June 2017 on a daily basis. The timings look a little like this:
DL089 DEPART ATL 13:05 ARRIVE ICN 16:45+1 DL088 DEPART ICN 18:30 ARRIVE ICN 19:40 Commences: 3rd June 2017 Booked Equipment: Boeing 777-200LR Data: Delta
Combined with the Korean Air operation, this will offer a twice-daily operation between Atlanta and Seoul-Incheon.
Korean Air operate a three class Boeing 777-300ER on the Atlanta-Seoul route.
There’s further expansion in code-shares too, with Korean Air to place its code on 115 Delta flights, and Delta to place its code on 32 of Korean Air flights.
The new code-shares will commence in the 4th Quarter of the year – subject to governmental approval.
Reservations are currently not showing, but should be available soon.
It’s an interesting play by Delta to reach out to its old partner that it placed into the cold. Hopefully a lot of the frequent flyer benefits will start to unfreeze too.

Delta is trying to fix its Narita problem. Their growing SEA hub is part of that fix, plus the 2 new HND flight awards. the DL 744’s are nearly out the door. Korean is much stronger brand and product than Delta’s China partners. and with the dismantling of the NRT hub — Delta has to address the lack of connecting flights somehow.
