It seems where Etihad have gone, Turkish Airlines have followed – with the announcement on Twitter that the ban is being lifted tomorrow (5th July 2017) on US-Bound flights.
Here’s the tweet below:
Dear Passengers, #WelcomeOnBoard to our US-bound flight. Please fasten your seatbelts and enjoy your own electronic devices. pic.twitter.com/WbcZwNPhrf

No formal press release has been made yet by Turkish Airlines, nor a response by The US Department of Homeland Security yet.
Although the way Turkish Airlines are banding it around – this seems to be a formality for Istanbul to clear the way for large electronic items to be carried aboard planes again.
Turkish Airlines has a number of routes to the USA from Istanbul, serving Atlanta, Chicago O’Hare, Houston Intercontinental, Los Angeles, New York JFK, San Francisco, and Washington–Dulles.
I’ll be awaiting the formal press releases – but it seems that Turkey and Istanbul have cleared the US hurdle on large electronic items.
However, there is no news if the UK variant of the ban has been lifted for Turkish Airlines.
That’s something that will have to be addressed in the near future I suspect…
With two airlines cleared, it does leave names like Qatar Airways, Emirates, Royal Jordanian Airlines , Egyptair, Kuwait Airways, Royal Air Maroc and Saudia which are still under the US Electronics ban restrictions.
