As we glide into autumn, airlines are deep in planning for 2018. Virgin Atlantic is increasing capacity out of Manchester Airport to the USA for the Summer 2018 timetable.

Virgin Atlantic will be deploying a Boeing 747-400 on certain days on its Manchester – New York JFK and Manchester – Atlanta Routes.
First up is Manchester to New York JFK. Four out of the Seven flights operated to New York JFK will use a Boeing 747-400. The remainder will continue to be operated with Airbus A330s.

Meanwhile, Atlanta will get a two Boeing 747-400 services a week boost from 28th March 2018 (operating Mondays and Thursdays), before going to three days a week on the 26th May 2018 (operating Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
The revised timetables during this point look like this when it goes to three days a week.

A lot more seats like this are welcome – especially as the UK heads into the summer season with the dates mentioned above. There’s also good feed into Delta’s US Domestic networks at Atlanta and New York JFK for those who want to explore further into the USA (as well as for Delta passengers with miles who want a ride in a Queen of the Skies – as the Delta 747s will be a long forgotten memory at that point).
Whilst they’re not daily services – they do offer more uplift for Economy, Premium Economy and Upper Class passengers.
And hopefully more uplift can lead to cheaper seats.
