It’s Sunday again, so it must be time for some more airplane art.
This week – descending through the low cloud layer on final approach to Chicago O’Hare is an American Airlines Airbus A321 with Sharklets.
American Airlines operates a fleet of 218 Airbus A321 in various different configurations for various missions.
A number of them are assigned to the transcontinental premium route between New York and San Francsio/Los Angeles whilst the rest have various uses both domestic and international flights.
This plane – N165AA– has been logged recently flying back and forth between Dallas Fort-Worth and Cancun recently.
As it’s one of the younger planes in the fleet, and a newer build Airbus, it features Sharklets wingtip devices (a blended winglet), allowing reduced fuel costs to be realised.
More Airplane Art next week!
