The ultimate fast food shop opens at East Midlands Airport….

03/04/2018 by Kevincm

For some people in the UK – there is one food outlet we have a love and hate relationship.

And it’s called Greggs.

Whilst Greggs have branches in most towns selling sandwiches, cakes and such, most of us are there for the pasties, sausage rolls and steak bakes (your author included… mainly for the steak bakes).

Although I am partial to a sausage roll too

Well it seems one airport has managed to attract the good value foodstuffs that Greggs sells – and its East Midlands Airport

The good news is that the establishment opened on the 30th March, with the venue being landside, in the arrivals hall.

Our #GoodFriday good news is…@GreggsOfficial has landed at East Midlands Airport! From this morning, you can enjoy a whole range of Greggs food and beverages when you land back in the East Midlands or if you’re waiting to collect someone! #SausageRollFever pic.twitter.com/UWIDPE4s3P

Greggs has landed at EMA!

Did you know that on average, Greggs sell 11.4 million sausage rolls a year? Plus, the distance between East Midlands Airport and Alicante is 11,020,408 sausage rolls! These fun facts are in honour of Greggs, now open in Arrivals! pic.twitter.com/yUnE1MbqlA

No, it won’t satisfy those who what haute coture dining in the sky, nor will satisfy public health bodies who think there’s too much fat in a sausage roll, steak bake (although their salads aren’t that bad in calorie terms).

But those wanting a hot snack when landing – or wanting to take a treat through security – this could be a welcome step.

Now please excuse me… it’s a long way into town for a steak bake…

There’s been a Greggs at MAN for ages.
