British Airways shapes up new two new Summer 2019 Routes

17/10/2018 by Kevincm

As autumn and winter close in, British Airways is beginning to shape up new routes and boosted frequencies for Summer 2019, with new routes to  from Heathrow to Preveza in Greece and Bastia in Corsica.

The new routes are for the summer, with the timetables and initial fares announced:

Lead-in pricing starts at Fares start from £71 one-way in Euro Traveller and £198 in Club Europe. I would suspect that finding redemption seats on this service should be easy too.

Bastia (Corsica)

BA586 DEPART LHR 07:40 ARRIVE BIA 11:00
BA587 DEPART BIA 11:50 ARRIVE LHR 13:10

Operates 26th May 2019 to 29th September 2019
Booked Equipment: Airbus A320
Data: British Airways

Fares start from £48 in Euro Traveller and £128 in Club Europe one-way. Redemption seats may be a little harder to find due to the frequency of the route.

As well as these destinations, more flights to Marseille, Budapest, Gibraltar, Palermo, Amsterdam and Malaga and a new service from Gatwick to Kos taking off from May 15, 2019 are being added to the Summer 2019 timetable. London City Airport will gain addition frequencies on Ibiza, Edinburgh and Berlin.

On the launch of the new routes, Sean Doyle, British Airways’ Director of Network and Alliances stated

“We’re always devloping our leisure offering and are committed to giving our customers even more choice of destinations at competitively low prices, so we’re pleased to be adding two more stunning spots to our summer schedule. On our long haul network we’re launching new routes to Osaka and Pittsburgh and increasing the number of flights to Nashville, and we’re also increasing the number of services to European destinations such as Malaga, Gibraltar and Palermo.”

These launches aren’t massive ones to say the least, and won’t pull too much of a resource drain, but add some interesting destinations to the British Airways network.

The frequency uplift will be more welcome to the more popular destinations however.
