Christmas preparations are continuing around the world – with Emirates preparing for festive season (following on from their Thanksgiving special)
So, let’s dive in with menus and food, with the Christmas menu returning to the skies across all cabin classes. These will be catered out of Dubai International to select routes to Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, Europe, the United States and South Africa.
If you’re in economy class, the airline is promising
“a delicious turkey roll with mashed potato, pan fried Vienna Chicken Sausage, green peas, baby carrots and cranberry jus lié prepared by Emirates’ award-winning chefs. For dessert, Emirates will serve milk chocolate mousse with cranberry compote topped with a reindeer chocolate button.”
It looks a bit like this:
For those in First and Business class, the service gets a little more elaborate, with the airline promising
roasted turkey breast and apricot stuffing, roast potatoes with creamy brussels sprouts with turkey bacon and cranberry jus lié. For dessert, passengers will be served festive sweets such as a chocolate Yule log garnished with meringue drops, chocolate stars and a Gingerbread Man or a Chocolate Mint dome decorated with snow fondant and a festive leaf served with crème anglaise.
Which looks a little like this.
If you’re flying aboard the Emirates A380 fleet routes in First or Business Class, there will be mince pies and a Spiced Amarula Cocktail.
Hot Chocolate and gingerbread men will also be available.
For the younger traveller, there is also a few things going on with the on-board service, with a children version of the Christmas menus, as well as a limited Emirates Fly with Me Animal toy, with Bell the robin available on board for a limited time in December to offer children a travel companion.
The In-Flight Entertainment System – ice – will have Christmas films and entertainment loaded on it including Love Actually, Home Alone, Elf, The Polar Express, The Holiday and It’s a Wonderful Life.
Meanwhile on the ground, all Emirates lounges (42 of them) will have a Christmas offering as part of the catering offer until 31st December. Those who transit Dubai will be able to take advantage of a Voss water co-brand imitative, offering infused Voss water in the Concourse B Lounge.
A very merry Emirates Christmas
As Emirates continues to engage with local festivities (be it Thanksgiving, Christmas, Diwali, Eid and so on, it’s a sign that the airline is varying its product to the markets it serves.
For some, they might be wishing to escape the madness of the holiday season – and I’m sure the normal offerings will be in play. But for those wanting a little festivity before flying onto their next destination, it’s a nice soft touch
And those softer touches are important step in the passenger experience journey.
