It is the 25th of December somewhere in the world. It’s, therefore, Christmas Day.
Normally at this stage, I would show you a picture of my parents Christmas tree and give you my good wishes that you have reached your loved ones for the holiday season.
However, these aren’t normal times
However, like a lot of people this year in the UK – I can’t be at home with mine this year, due to the changes in the Tier system in the UK, which places one side of my family in Tier 4, and myself in Tier 3. As such, Tier 4 households are not allowed visitors – even for Christmas Day.
Indeed – some of you have chosen not to gather, so not to expose others of catching viruses and to be safe.
Instead, families are separated – linked by phones and video calls, with us all having to muddle through this year as COVID-19 takes its rage.
If you are (legally) be able to meet up with your Christmas bubble, enjoy your minimal time with them.

We want to see the tree!
Courtesy of my parents, here’s this year’s Christmas tree
What about your tree?
My flat is distinctly unfestive – sadly, time has not been on my side to prepare a lot for Christmas.
However, I do have a tree of sorts I built at the office. Out of laptop boxes.
I’ll give a hint what these laptops are for: Hope. Hope for a better 2021.
For now, lets live with the restrictions and make the promise to catch up with our loved ones when we can.
Merry Christmas from Kevin, your author, editor, coffee drinker, laptop builder and photographer at Economy Class and Beyond.
