British Airways is preparing to expand its BA Euroflyer operation with the airline adding five destinations to its network.

It will add  Montpellier, Corfu, Mykonos and Innsbruck to its short-haul route network, in addition to a new summer Salzburg service.

Montpellier, in the south of France, is a new addition to British Airways’ network, operating three times a week in the summer from 27 May 2023.

The service to Mykonos bolsters the existing summer routes from London Heathrow and London City, while Corfu is in addition to the existing London Heathrow service. Innsbruck sees the addition of eight new weekly flights in the winter season, which complements the current six-times weekly service from London Heathrow.

BA Euroflyer’s summer service to Salzburg will complement the existing winter services from London Gatwick and London Heathrow.

The announcement of new routes follows recent news that BA Euroflyer received its Air Operator’s Certificate (AOC) and Operating Licence from the UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA). This allows it to operate as a subsidiary airline similar to the company’s existing subsidiary, BA Cityflyer, flying under the British Airways brand.

Business Class (Club Europe) and Economy (EuroTraveller) seating options will be offered on the routes, with premium facilities open to those who qualify either on fare or status, as the case may be.

For those who want to spend their hard-earned Avios, the airline will offer a minimum of 12 Reward Seats on every flight, with booking via the usual means on www.ba.com.

Tom Stoddart, Acting CEO of BA Euroflyer, said:

“It is exciting to see our short-haul schedule at Gatwick grow. These additional routes are to a broad range of destinations that will suit all manner of travellers from beach lovers and skiers to explorers and adventurers. We have something for everyone departing from London Gatwick.”

Rebuilding Gatwick

British Airways Gatwick operation has been one for some years searching for one thing – a profit. With BA Euroflyer, it hopes it can deliver the services it wants sustainably whilst controlling costs.

The Gatwick operation was impacted heavily between 2020 and 2022, with services resuming in 2022. Since then, it has been rebuilding both its short and long-haul operations.

With the BA Euroflyer AOC, hopefully, it can drive the value that British Airways seeks whilst allowing its passengers to experience the airline at its best.
