easyJet has in continuing to shape its coverage for Winter 2023, with eight new winter routes lined up.
So what’s new?
First up is one for those who want to make Christmas memories, with flights from London Luton and Edinburgh to Rovaniemi, the gateway to Finnish Lapland, which will launch on the 9 and 3 of December respectively and operates twice a week throughout winter. The new routes join existing services from London Gatwick, Bristol and Manchester. Perfect if you’re planning a trip to see Santa before the big day.
For those who like it a little warmer, but love the cold, routes from Liverpool to Lyon and London Southend to Geneva have gone on sale, along with the new Gatwick to Akuyeri (Iceland) route.
Hurghada in Egypt is getting a boost for the winter – which is a diving hotspot according to the copy. Flights will launch from Liverpool twice a week starting the 29th of October, Glasgow twice a week commencing on the 8th of November and Belfast International once a week beginning on 31 October. These will be year-round route launches, with a service from Edinburgh that will operate twice a week starting the 6th of November and will fly during the winter season
The routes can be booked as flight-only, or as part of a package holiday with easyJet Holidays. Flights on new routes for this winter are now available to book at easyJet.com and via the mobile app, with lead-in pricing starting at £29.99.

Ali Gayward, easyJet’s UK Country Manager, commented:
“We’re delighted to be launching even more new routes and holidays from our airports across the UK to a range of fantastic destinations, providing even more choice for our customers this winter whether they’re looking for a Christmas getaway, hitting the slopes or chasing the winter sun and we can’t wait to welcome more customers on board.”
Some busy launches
The new routes also come after easyJet and easyJet Holidays recently announced plans to launch 15 new summer routes from Birmingham, where the airline will open a new base in March 2024.
And there’s been several other launches we’ve covered here too.
easyJet serves 21 UK airports offering 482 routes to 125 destinations from the UK across Europe, North Africa and the Middle East. With growth coming from its network expansion – especially when people are seeking lower-cost options when travelling, the airline seems well-placed for winter and summer
And I strongly suspect this won’t be the last winter route announcement we’ll have this year…
