It seems IAG Loyalty has signed another airline to its Avios programme – with Scottish carrier Loganair planning to adopt Avios as the loyalty currency for its Clan Loganair programme.

Loganair will be the 7th airline to adopt Avios as its loyalty currency – with British Airways, Iberia, Aer Lingus, Vueling, Qatar Airways, and Finnair all using it.
The transition to Avios will be automatic for existing Clan Loganair members. Members from both Clan Loganair and the British Airways Executive Club will now be able to combine their Avios balances and redeem Avios on their respective networks.
The airline served over 1.5 million passengers annually last year across its network of 70 routes, providing critical connectivity to Scotland and its island communities, as well as regional hubs including s Glasgow, Edinburgh, Aberdeen, Inverness, and Newcastle, alongside its services from London Heathrow.
Loganair already has links with British Airways. In the past, the airline was a British Airways franchisee. Since then it went on to be a FlyBe franchisee before settling on using its own name, with them having a codeshare agreement.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Loganair as the newest member of our Avios family, marking a significant milestone as our seventh airline partner. With Loganair’s addition, we’re now able to offer customers even greater opportunities to earn and redeem Avios across their important domestic network in the UK and beyond, providing greater choice and value. No dates as yet
For Clan Loganair members, there’s going to be a wait as the timetable is sorted for the transition to Avios. As such there is no indication of when Avios will offered under Loganair and how much flights will earn.
Nor is there any current indication of what redemption rates are.
For now, if you have Clan Loganair membership and are racking up points, it could be worth keeping them while IAG Loyalty and the airline work out how they’re going to implement the Avios programme.
