AIX25: FlightPath3D introduces a faster rollout option, with Flightpath3D Cloud

07/04/2025 by Kevincm Leave a Comment

FlightPath3D is introducing a Software as a Service (SaaS) service called FlightPath3D Cloud into its product offering.

It will allow a consistent experience for passengers throughout the travel experience, across any device and at any point throughout their travels.

a cloud with icons and symbols

FlightPath3D Cloud brings a consistent, fully featured FlightPath3D experience to personal devices and seatback screens, using an on-board server or an available inflight connectivity link.

Airlines decide where functionality lives and how it is delivered to passengers.

It will be leveraging data provided by FlightAware to the experience, such as arrival gate and baggage information.

This builds on the cloud infrastructure in place for FlightPath3D’s Route Map product WhereWeFly, currently live on Heathrow, Philadelphia and other major airport websites. And thanks to FlightPath3D’s build once, deploy anywhere architecture airlines can easily deliver a common passenger experience across the travel experince, not just in the sky.

Beyond the map

Ground-based experiences, such as the airline website or app, can now display the same data as a seat-back screen, retaining all airline-specific branding and customizations. Gate displays and other airport touchpoints can render the same content passengers stream on their personal devices. Transitioning between airline-managed and personal devices or enabling a multi-screen experience can be handled via simple cues such as a QR code.

Moreover, airlines can now extend the destination discovery experience pre- and post-flight. By serving up information about the destination and locations along the route, in addition to flight details, airlines can enable real-time upsells and partner booking options for experiences on the ground.

Loyalty program integration furthers this use case, with personalized content, rewards, and exclusive offers surfaced via the map interface. This can be extended with the Luci Flight Companion, allowing airlines to include targeted marketing offers alongside route and destination details.

In Quotes

Duncan Jackson, President of FlightPath3D said:

“FlightPath3D Cloud revolutionizes travel by offering instant deployment, accessible both inflight and through airline digital platforms like apps and websites,”

“It extends the journey enriching every phase from pre-flight planning to post-flight exploration with features like live arrival gate and baggage updates, all delivered through our immersive, customizable interface.”

Deployable… anywhere.

Having the ability to use your phone as a second screen with a map can be a good thing – after all, people like to know where they’re going, without compromising their “big screen” experience in the seatback infornt.

With the ability to deploy beyond the aircraft – as well as within the aircraft, there’s a lot of opportunity to extend the discovery services, as well as upsells along the way (be it selling onward transit, tours or other ancileraies).

We’ll have to see which airlines choose to pick this up.
