KLM to add Kittilä, Finland

20/07/2025 by Kevincm Leave a Comment

For those who want to head up to Lapland this winter, KLM is adding a seasonal route between Amsterdam and Kittilä, Finland.

KLM will offer a weekly Kittilä. The planned operation is as follows:

KL1261 DEPART AMS 12:20 ARRIVE KTT 16:20
KL1262 DEPART KTT 1710 ARRIVE AMS 19:20
Operates between 23rd November 2025 and22nd March 22 2026
Operates Sundays only.
Booked Equipment: KLM Boeing 737-800

KLM will use a Boeing 737-800 on this route with up to 186 aboard, offering Business and Economy class cabins.

Kittilä serves as the gateway to Finnish Lapland, providing travellers access to the ski areas Levi and Ylläs. In addition to skiing, visitors can enjoy various winter activities, such as cross-country skiing, reindeer safaris, and husky tours.

With this new route, KLM is responding to the growing demand for Lapland as a winter destination. Moreover, KLM is strengthening its offerings in the region by expanding its flight schedule to Rovaniemi from three to four times a week (Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday), making it even easier for travellers to explore Finnish Lapland via both Rovaniemi and Kittilä.

Wrap up warm.

With Kittilä in the Arctic Circle, you’re going to need to wrap up – especially since this service will be in the winter months, much like most of this airport’s traffic is.

Whilst the list of carriers is long, only Finnair, Discover Air and Edlewiess Air offer year-round service.

The rest of the carriers (Aer Lingus, airBaltic, Air France, QAnimawings, Austrian Airlines, Corendon Dutch Airlines, easyJet, Eurowings, Helvetic Airways, Lufthansa, Scandinavian Airlines, SWISS, Transavia, TUI UK, TUI fly Belgium and TUI Netherlands)  are all seasonal operations.

For now, it’s a new option for the Arctic Circle. Just wrap up during those winter months.
