We’ve reached another end of the week, with storms, airline closures and even a trip report starting to sneak out.
It must be time for Last Week at Economy Class and Beyond.
Snapshots and Trip Reports
We’re combining them into one section. It seemed like a good idea at the time. We’ve ended our current series of Snapshotr, with the full trip report now starting to escape from the drafts section of my editing suite. I’m expecting around three posts next week, subject to the usuals.
- SNAPSHOT: British Airways 296 Chicago O’Hare to London Heathrow in World Traveller Plus (Premium Economy) – The last of the Snapshot segments from my trip
- TRIP REPORT: New Aircraft, Old Friends – To Chicago with American Airlines and British Airways – The launch segment of the trip report
The Business of Aviation
- Blue Islands suspends flights and operations – Another UK Regional Airline failure.
- Singapore to implement a Sustainable Air Fuel departure levy – Another departure tax. Wonderful.
New Aircraft News
- Air Algérie becomes the latest A330neo operator – Another new operator joins the A330neo fold.
- Air China selects the Airbus A350F for its Cargo division –Did someone forget to tell Airbus there’s an airshow next week they could have announced this?
Routes and Networks
- Jet2 to launch a new base at London Gatwick Airport – Nothing beats a Jet2 base launch.
- Alaska Airlines sets out its Seattle – Rome plans – And daily, to boot.
IFE+C
- IndiGo and Bluebox Aviation Systems partner for A321XLR In-Flight Entertainment – Entertainment for the Longer range narrowbodies for IndiGo
Travel Advice
- Travelling to Heathrow This Weekend? Use the Piccadilly Line (No Heathrow Express or Elizabeth Line trains) – And allow extra time for your journey.
Pretty Pictures
Next Week
It’s the Dubai Air Show at Dubai World Central Airport, as manufacturers and airlines descend for a few days of displays, hard negotiations and maybe a few announcements. Economy Class and Beyond will be monitoring announcements from the show, if anything interesting shows up.
As well as that, I’ll be kicking the trip report in high gear next week, with another three parts lined up for next week (as some is retitling and finishing work is going on, whilst I finish the back end of the writing for it).
Finally, we’ll have other updates in the world of routes, business, and anything else interesting that crosses my path, as well as any backlog items in the queue.
Until next time, Happy Landings!
