With the 30th anniversary of Pocket Monsters… or as most of us know it better as Pokémon, All Nippon Airways (ANA) has announced the date of the “Red Pokémon Jet” unveiling.

With a chance to attend the ceremony.

The unveiling event will be held on July 28, 2026, at the ANA Airframe Maintenance Building at Haneda Airport. Regular domestic flights for the aircraft are scheduled to begin the following day, Wednesday, July 29.

For those who want to see this aircraft up close, ANA is offering 80 places to go to the hangar for the unveiling. This is being offered to ANA Mileage Club members, and you can apply at https://www.ana.co.jp/en/jp/mycampaign/pockemonjet_event_red_2026.

Up close, participants will see and experience the dynamic aircraft adorned with Fire-type Pokémon from across the series. The event also features a special ceremony and exhibition of original in-flight items.

Winners will be selected by lottery from the applicants and notified. Please check the application website for details and important notices regarding the event and application. Terms and conditions are on ANA’s campaign site.

The Boeing 787-8 (JA819A) will enter domestic service the next day (29th July), shuttling between Tokyo Haneda and Fukuoka. ANA has published the initial timetable (subject to changes and availability).

Flight No. Route Departure Time Arrival Time
NH243 Haneda―Fukuoka 8:15 10:00
NH248 Fukuoka―Haneda 10:45 12:35
NH255 Haneda―Fukuoka 13:30 15:15
NH260 Fukuoka―Haneda 16:15 18:10

Blue and Green to come

There are further Pokémon 30th Anniversary Pokémon Jets on the way, with the Green Jet (which will be celebrating Grass Types) and Blue (which will celebrate Water-type Pokémon).

ANA also operates a Pikachu Jet and an Eevee Jet, whilst other airlines operate Pokémon-branded aircraft as part of the  Pokémon Air Adventures Project.

So yes, you will have to get out there and catch them all.
