With all the operational and practical preparations in place, flights can now be booked, as SAS reconnects Scandinavia and India with a nonstop year-round route between Copenhagen and Mumbai, marking the airline’s return to India after 17 years.
The airline plans to operate five times a week on this route. The full pattern will be:

Paul Verhagen, Chief Commercial Officer at SAS, said:
“We are absolutely thrilled to welcome passengers on board our new nonstop service to Mumbai. This strategic route represents an extraordinary milestone for SAS, opening effortless doors between Scandinavia and one of the world’s most dynamic economic hubs. As SAS celebrates 80 years of pioneering international travel, reconnecting our regions is a deeply proud moment for all of us, and we cannot wait to welcome our passengers on board as of October 1st“
Hopefully, all the approvals have been done this time…
The Copenhagen-Mumbai route was originally meant to launch on 4th June this year. However, it seems that the final approvals had not been granted, with the inaugural flight having to embarrassingly turn back.
I suspect SAS would have dotted i’s and crossed t’s to ensure the next inaugural flight doesn’t wind up turning into an eight-hour flight to nowhere.
We’ll see on the 1st October.
